The Alchemist - Original Painting

The Alchemist began with a vision in the mirror of a crystalline heart on my chest and a leaf protecting my stomach. The vision came to life over almost a year of gradual painting. This androgynous blue entity came to embody Alchemy. The magic of transmuting one thing into another. This being connects the earth and the cosmos, the yin and the yang, life and death. The Alchemist takes something painful like sorrow and turns it into power with joy and expression.
